Nursing homes should not allow this to happen. Only a family member should be
allowed to help a patient vote if the patient is mentally able.
Its a fine line between the right to vote and conning somebody with dementia. My dad has dimentia, Alzheimer’s. I dont want his vote stolen but i cant be there every minute of the day, every day. How do we protect them from this? Nationwide?
Have his ballot mailed to your house.
Diana, you could get Power of Attorney for your dad and put in writing legally! Then no-one can make decisions or get his vote. Make sure the nursing home or assisted living has it in legal writing, then they wouldn’t dare try this or anything else.
