To my fellow concervatives. Remember that the Democratic followers look for the free unearned handouts and promises of briquets, maybe reparations, free housing,welfare, ADC, SNAP and all kinds of stuff. They really think the Government is a warehouse full of goodies that are free for the taking. Nobody ever realizes that the Governments money is actually OUR money that has been rmoved from us for various taxes we pay. Every item we buy has had taxes paid on it several times over by the time it gets to us. Gasoline is a prime example as the price is about 50% road taxes, but then of the billions of $$$ they get from road taxes, they want more for more projects. Money does not grow on trees, it is our money we worked for and had to pay out the taxes on, then as we buy things we need to pay for taxes to get it. In any case, a good portion of our population in the US today are 3rd or 4th generation welfare recipients. I blame LBJ for instituting a program which took the will away to work hard and excel from different groups of people. In my opinion, if I am still allowed to have one, is this group would blindly follow he Pied Pipper off a cliff if he promises more “gimmies” that others have to pay for.
Its funny but I am now retired and 76 years old. I was at the Grocery store and behind a lady who had a huge grocery basket of food with steaks and every imaginable expensive item you can think of. Her bill took about 4 feet of paper receipt to print out and was $300+ dollars. She produced a Snap Card, and some other things to pay for it all but no cash, credit or debit card, nothing else. I just thought to myself that my fixed income with no COLA adjustments just keeps getting smaller and I feel lucky when I can afford lunch meat or hamburger for my wife and my dinner. I followed her out as my receipt for 3 cans of soup and crackers went quickly and was paid for in cash. I offered to help her load it all in her fairly new Lincoln Van. She declined.
