Putin is the idiot who thought ukraine would quickly surrender when he invaded. putin is losing so many troops that not pulling out means he rather let more troops die on the battlefield. anything putin does moving forward besides ending this fight will only hurt his nation and people and there is no situation where his people or nation come out ahead with what is going on.
Russia is responding to NATO pushing into Ukraine. Russia will not withdraw from her pushback until she wins, or we have Armageddon. Take your pick
