Last year in Chicago, the number of minors who died from gun violence nearly tripled the total amount of corresponding fatalities from the year before. Overall, 276 kids under the age of 16 were shot in the “Windy City” during the year 2021. Shootings and guns have become such a commonality in the city that many of the area’s underaged residents have abnormal knowledge about firearms.
